Chamber Players Orchestra

Chamber Players Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Michail Gelfandbein, is the ideal first orchestra experience for students with one or two years of private lessons and limited orchestra experience. There are weekly sectionals and full orchestra for all instruments.

Conductor Gelfandbein is assisted at each rehearsal by wind coach Debra Gardner.

At Chamber Players, each musician learns how to follow a conductor and to play as an ensemble, to play in-tune, and to achieve the correct sound and balance for each section of the orchestra.

Chamber Players begins rehearsals in September and performs three concerts each season, in December, March, and May. Recent concerts include performances at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center and the Albert & Janet Schultz Cultural Arts Hall of  Palo Alto.

It is recommended that students who plan to attend Chamber Players enroll in Summer Workshop I prior to their first year in Chamber Players Orchestra. With faculty approval, experienced Chamber Players musicians may enroll in Summer Workshop II or III.
