"It is very noble to give students the possibility to tour.”—Dr. Camilla Kolchinsky
The Kolchinsky Scholarship Fund, in honor of Dr. Camilla Kolchinsky (1931-2016), provides need-based financial aids for the ECYS International Concert Tour.
As an internationally recognized conductor and a remarkable pedagogue, Dr. Kolchinsky not only taught, but also inspired musicians. She had a lasting and profound impact on students who continued to benefit from their musical experiences with her.
Born to a poor Jewish family in Moscow, were it not for the assistance Dr. Kolchinsky had received from her teachers, she would not have been able to rise above hardships and became an international renowned conductor. Camilla cared deeply about young musicians in need of financial help.
This scholarship fund will provide financially challenged Senior Symphony students with the same opportunity as their peers to have a life-changing experience. Giving to the scholarship is the best way to honor the legacy of Dr. Kolchinsky!
