Summer Conservatory

July 17 - 28, 2017

Recommended for musicians ages 6-14!

ECYS invites members and non-members to participate in the acclaimed ECYS Summer Music Conservatory Program! From Beginning Orchestra, the ideal "first orchestra" experience, to Intermediate Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Winds for advanced-intermediate students, this two-week workshop is a great way to stay tuned-up over the summer!

New this summer: Viola Voyagers! Learn to play one of the orchestra's most sought after instruments! The two-week class, for students with at least two years of violin experience, will introduce players to the viola and reading alto clef. No prior viola experience is required. An instrument will be provided.

ECYS Associate Conductor Dr. Michail Gelfandbein will return as director of Beginning Orchestra and Intermediate Chamber Orchestra; ECYS Director of Winds Debra Gardner will continue the Chamber Winds Program; and Vladimir Klibanov will coach the Viola Voyagers.

The Summer Conservatory will conclude with an evening concert on July 28, 7:00pm.
All programs are weekdays, Monday – Friday; students participate both weeks.

Conservatory classes held at the First Presbyterian Church of Palo Alto.
Open to ECYS members AND non-members.*
